Ponies competing in shows can be just as ambitious and sensitive as their larger counterparts in the arena.
Mallmore Paddy, a 13-year-old Connemara pony, is a great example of a horse that, despite his physical potential and experience, struggled for a long time with strong emotions during competitions.
That’s why the team decided to try Hempqualizer Compete. After just the first dose, the results were noticeable – not only in the ring, but even... in the stable. Paddy remained calm, focused, and fully ready to perform – which led to a victory against full-sized horses in the class.
Below is a full description of the process and the results this natural emotional support brought to this brave little pony.
Paddy, a 13-year-old Connemara pony, used to become overheated emotionally during competitions, especially in the showjumping phase. He would go from a relaxed and responsive ride in the warm-up to being stiff and unreactive once entering the arena – “shutting off the engine,” leading to slow pace and faults on course.
We decided to give him 2 ml of the Compete paste half an hour before the start, and within just 10 minutes, he showed clear signs of relaxation in the stable. He stood calmly, wasn’t pacing, and behaved impeccably – something we had never seen before at shows.
In the warm-up, he was focused and calm, didn’t buck – a behavior that had been fairly common previously. He completed the round without hesitation, maintaining his form from the warm-up.
We also administered the paste before cross-country, with the same great results – the pony enthusiastically cleared every obstacle and won the entire event against big horses!
