Kalmar is a very special horse – a Thoroughbred with a long and demanding racing career, who ran in Poland and abroad. Today, at 23 years old, he enjoys a peaceful life in Mazury: spending his days in the fields and his nights in the stable.
Years of hard work have left their mark – especially joint degeneration in the fetlocks. Yet Kalmar remains full of energy and zest for life. Thanks to a balanced diet, moderate activity, and the right supplements, his health is generally very good.
In recent years, however, new challenges have emerged: seasonal allergies and coughing during the pollen season in March. He also struggles with stress during major changes – like moving to a new stable.
In these difficult moments, Hempqualizer+ has been a lifesaver – helping Kalmar regain balance after stressful events, and calming his cough within a few days.
This story is proof that natural support, patience, and understanding a horse’s needs can make a real difference.
Kalmar – Thoroughbred, 23 years old, together for over 7 years.
No longer in hard work – a beloved family horse, ridden 1–2 times a week, mostly gentle hacks through fields and forests.
A retired racehorse with a long career in Poland and abroad – that’s a long time ago now.
His overall health is good, considering all he’s been through. His racing career mainly impacted his joints – he has fetlock arthritis.
We “keep the joints going” with a balanced diet, moderate exercise (light hacks, lots of turnout), and supplements.
Apart from a mild cold a few years ago and minor scratches, Kalmar has been healthy.
In the past two years, however, seasonal allergies have appeared – something we hadn’t seen before. In March, when hazel and alder bloom in the forests, Kalmar develops a dry cough – noticeable both at rest and during work.
Both last year and this year, I gave him Hempqualizer+ (2 ml daily). The cough settled day by day. After about a week to 10 days, it was gone – no relapses. The whole process took around two and a half weeks.
My plan for next year is to start using Hempqualizer+ before the pollen season as a preventative.
Two weeks ago, we also changed stables – a big adjustment for Kalmar, as he hadn’t changed stables or herds in four years. It really unsettled him, and he was quite excitable.
I gave him Hempqualizer+ for about a week, and it really helped – he calmed down and became much more relaxed.
Now, everything is fine again – he got through this big change without major stress.
Thank you so much for being there. You’re often a lifesaver in unexpected moments and urgent situations!
